1.)From today’s modern-day society must are the mean are
susppose to be manly or the dominate one in the family or just in public. The
character in the roles of television and movies is the man being the big bad
super hero or army guy that saves the day and gets the girl. That cause a lot
of stereotyping of people opinions in there minds.
I would say
that all the levels are being used in this question. If the media is going to
advertise this to the people that men are the dominance person in the T.V shows
or movies. The men’s role is done on a more of a societal and a interpersonal
scale.
2.) I think some of the patriarchy does impose some of the
masculine in men. Like the freedom of speech that they want to express without
being judge. I think that a lot of men are judge of saying stuff. Men think they have to show no
emotion and have to be studs at everything they do and say, and they don’t like
being proved wrong
Yes. I would get with that question and statement. Men are
born to be in power. With watching there father and doing what he does around
the house by bring the income home and the support of there family.
3.) Men need to be liberated that they can’t show them
crying and show any emotion to anyone that is how we are just taught to do. I
know that I had my emotion because I was taught to do that from my father and
friends. Even on the baseball diamond the scouts don’t want to see you throwing
stuff around or just crying to the umpire. But sometimes you can’t hide when
someone dies or even a movie sometimes people show it. The other night we were
watching the movie warrior and there are some parts that just bring tears to
your eyes. Yes I think we have seen some changes in society with men staying
home and taking care of the children and the women going to work and bringing
the income home. Even some men are using the feminine side with television shows and movies. Things
are changing over time it is to day world not the past.
Its funny that you bring up movies as a catalyst for emotions. Any strong scenes of father and daughter/son part in a movie usually stirs up some emotional response from me. But I hate to cry so I hold it back, but I do make a mental note of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat examples! Sports and the action-hero genre are 2 very political areas in terms of masculinity. For future blogs, think about how you can bring these examples to life by adding visuals and video content.
